New Town Hall

New Town Hall with its conspicuous tower stands at the northern end of the Charles Square. First recorded reference to it dates from the second half of the 14th century when it already had two two-storied wings housing municipality offices as well as a prison. After several reconstructions it acquired its current appearance, with four wings and a arcade courtyard.

The two halls with reticulated vaulting on the ground floor are particularly remarkable. It is currently used for official functions and cultural events, and only on those occasions can one inspect the interiors and admire yet another view of Prague from the top of the tower. The most representative Great Hall is in the style of gothic. The capacity of the Great Hall is up to 200 people in banquet set up.
